About
Shelby is a tattooer living and working in Southern Maine. She's been tattooing for thirteen years, apprenticing in Biddeford in 2011 and bouncing around for a while until it was decided that she get into her own space. Shelby likes to keep her atmosphere calm and inviting and tries to give clients a relaxed experience because she knows tattoos can be stressful. Shelby has a 9 year old son named Logan, a dog named Sitka and a cat named Bijou. In her free time she likes to draw, play video games, cook, and go outdoors. She would love to talk to you about your interests, hearing stories makes her happy and if you can teach her something new she'll appreciate it.Aftercare
Take the bandage off after an hour or 2, then wash under warm, soapy water. Dial antibacterial soap works great. Make sure to clean off any residue and then dry with a fresh paper towel.Let the tattoo air dry for about 10-15 minutesReapply Saran Wrap to the tattoo with no lotion or ointment.
Try to do this process three times a day.- In the morning when you wake up- halfway through the day- right before bed.
Continue this process for four to five days.
You can use sports wrap (aka cohesive bandage/sensiwrap) or paper/medical tape, if need be, to secure the edges of the wrap.
Make sure that if you are using anything with adhesive to help the bandage stay in place, to change the placement of the tape every time you apply it, to avoid extra skin irritation.
After this process is done, I always suggest unscented lotion to moisturize the tattoo, whenever it seems dry.Any brand is fine, as long as it’s unscented. Aquaphor and other petroleum based products seem to be applied too heavily and can do the opposite of what they’re intended to do, so I just suggest sticking to an unscented lotion.
Make sure you avoid swimming for two weeks after the tattoo, as it’s an open wound and any bacteria in the water could cause an infection, or cause issues with healing.
Try to avoid direct sunlight during the healing process as well, again it’s an open would and it may irritate the tattoo/cause issues with healing.
You can take showers, you don’t have to worry about the water running directly on the tattoo, just try to be aware of it and gentle.
Please don’t let pets touch your fresh tattoo, I love my pets too but they carry lots of bacteria and it’s a healing wound.
Something people used to do was slap new tattoos ‘to set the Ink’ and you don’t want to do this because it causes unnecessary irritation to the skin.

Aftercare for DermShield
Leave the bandage on for 4-5 days.
After this time, take off the bandage in the shower, as it will be soothing and clear out possible residue rather than just peeling it off somewhere random.
Wash with antibacterial soap and warm water.
Pat dry with a clean paper towel.
Use unscented lotion to keep the tattoo moisturized.
Moisturize the tattoo whenever it feels dry, and you’re good to go.
The tattoo may flake a bit, just continue to moisturize it. This is normal.
